IMPOSSIBLE BUT TRUE SLEEP FACT #1:

You should not be getting up to go to the bathroom at night. 

 

Proper sleep shuts down the parasympathetic nervous system.  In a properly oxygenated sleep state you will sleep through the night. Over excitation of the para sympathetic nervous system is driven by sleep hypoxia.
